The project is taking a Person-Centred model of emotional and practical support involving participants at every step of their journey. Our model is designed to empower, which not only ensures equality and diversity but also ensures engage
Humanity 1st have a lived experienced staff who have been working with the ethnic minority community and we have been supporting these groups with positive outcomes over the past five years. We saw unmet needs and lacuna leading to people suffering from anxiety, depression, language and communication barriers, and isolation which was compounded by recent lockdowns including other appertaining Covid-19 impacts.
Evidence shows by West Yorkshire and Harrogate review report that Health inequalities we know exist have been further exacerbated by recent events, namely the pandemic and economic recession. Closing these gaps which exist in all BAME communities remains the biggest challenge we face and is essentially one of the biggest of our lifetime.
